Insulin aspart is a fast-acting form of insulin. Insulin works through receptors that control the metabolism of carbohydrates, protein and fats. Insulin stimulates the entry of glucose into muscle and adipose tissue. The target tissues for insulin are muscles, liver and adipose tissue.
